Gardudde Halvo

Gardudde Halvo is a popular konkani dessert, which is very easy to make. It is a delicious sweet dish prepared by cooking grated bottle gourd in milk and jaggery.


  • 2 cups grated bottle gourd, peeled and grated
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups jaggery
  • 1 tablespoon cashew nuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder


  1. Cook cashews and grated bottle gourd with milk.
  2. When all the milk is absorbed, add jaggery and cook till all the jaggery is melted. Add cardamom powder. Mix well.
  3. Serve Gardudde Halvo warm or chilled.
