Dessert made from fibrous bottle gourd
- 3 cups Doodhi or Bottle gourd, shredded
- 3 tablespoons Ghee
- 3 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon Cardamom powder
- 3/4 cup Sugar
- almonds, cut as required
- Roast lauki in hot ghee in a pan for 10 minutes till tender.
- Add warm milk, cardamom powder and bring to boil.
- Simmer for 30-40 minutes till milk is reduced to half and add sugar.
- Continue cooking for 10 minutes. Add almonds.
- Serve dudhi halwa warm or cold.
