Maani / Mahni – Raw mango soup

Tangy side dish made from raw mango pulp and spices. Part of Dal puth maani recipe in Kashmir and other hilly areas of Himachal

Ingredients

  • 2 Raw or half-ripe mangoes, large
  • 1 Onion, large
  • 1 teaspoon Roasted Cumin seed Powder
  • Salt – To taste
  • Sugar, as per taste
  • Red chili Powder
  • Fresh Crushed Mint Leaves – Just a few

Instructions

  1. Boil mangoes. Squeeze pulp and blend.
  2. Add the chopped onions and spices. Adjust taste with salt and sugar. Garnish with mint.
