Kashmiri Chai

Herbal tea from Kashmir


  • 1 tablespoon Kashmiri chai or green tea
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • 3 green cardamom pods
  • 1 pinch black salt
  • 2 cups cold milk


  1. Brew tea in 2 cups water along with baking soda, cinnamon, cardamom and salt covered for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Add another cup of water and heat on high flame. Bring to boil. Add milk.
  3. Strain and serve Kashmiri Chai. Garnish with almonds or pistachios.
