Kaptsey / Makhori

Bread made during ceremonies in Ladakh. It is presented when a girl child is born.  In Baltis and Shin tribes, it is also presented by the grooms family to the brides family during marriage ceremonies.

Ingredients

  • Wheat flour
  • Salt
  • Oil

Instructions

  1. Thick round bread made from wheat flour
  2. Sugar added if required
  3. The edges are turned, twisted and pressed to give a woven appearance.
  4. Cooked in oil
