Jangri

Sweet dish made from urad dal similar to Jalebi

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Urad dal , soaked for an hour
  • 2 teaspoons Raw rice, soaked for an hour
  • 3 cups Sugar
  • Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Saffron soaked milk

Instructions

  1. Grind rice and dal in a grinder along with water.
  2. Make sugar syrup by heating sugar and water to single thread consistency. Add saffron colour. Keep aside.
  3. Make plastic cone with hole. Place batter inside cone and make floral shapes on plastic surface.
  4. Deep fry shapes till brown and crispy.
  5. Dip fried jangris in sugar syrup.
  6. Serve Jangri hot.
