Red lentil curry with flavor of Meghalaya


  • 1 cup red lentils /masoor dal
  • 1 teaspoon mustard oil
  • 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
  • 2 teaspoons ginger garlic paste
  • salt, to taste


  1. Pressure cook lentils till tender. Once cool, blend into puree.
  2. Dry roast sesame seeds. Grind into coarse paste with little water.
  3. Heat oil. Saute ginger garlic paste and sesame paste. Stir.
  4. Add lentils and salt. Bring to boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Serve Daineiiong hot along with rice.
