Deep fried bread from Himalayan hills


  • 1 kilogram Wheat flour
  • Oil for frying (mustard oil preferred)
  • Sugar
  • Yeast / Khameer
  • Salt


  1. Mix wheat flour and add half a cup of refined oil with little sugar.
  2. Mix water and knead dough. Add yeast.
  3. Allow it to rest overnight.
  4. Take a small portion of dough and roll it into shape of puri.
  5. Deep fry on hot flame. Allow it to cook on both sides till brown.
  6. Serve hot with pickle or tea snack.
